Field Trips

 During the fall and winter programs, Genesis plans several Field Trips. These days are one day events. The destinations vary depending on the time of year, the age of the niños, as well as the input from the staff of the Casa Hogar. Some of the past Field Trips have included: programs at local museums, tours and hands on activities at the Tijuana Culture Centre, IMAX movies, theatre performances, hikes/rock climbing, and trips to local tourist attractions (La Bufadora). Along with the scheduled program, the ninos eat at a local taco stand/restaurant or have a picnic lunch. Genesis recognizes that these events are often not possible for the orphanages because of the additional costs for transportation and entrance fees. Genesis understands the value of giving the niños opportunities to experience the Arts, have an awareness of Mexican culture & history, participate in a variety of athletic activities, as well as learn skills for different social situations.
